Ricardo, in general I agree with your article. I was curious about this statement, though:

I was under the impression that if the watch is genuine, and hasn't been altered, Breitling (and other companies) will service it even if it was purchased gray market. It's just that the owner will have to pay for service if it's gray market; as you said, it won't be covered under warranty. Breitling won't service fakes (obviously), or genuine watches that have been significantly modified from their factory condition.
Regarding the OP's question, I'll state the premise upon which all the other opinions are based, but hasn't been explicitly stated: there is no company authorized by Breitling to sell their watches online. If you're buying online, and the watch is new, then you're buying on the gray market, with all its associated risks. This site's administrator has posted
