Despite the strength of the Swiss franc, sales continued to rise for the watchmaking industry. Exports were up almost 32% in May compared to the same period in 2010. More details here:

What crazy is that all the old watchmakers are retiring.
Few new ones stepped up when the world went to quartz for many years.

This would be a great field to get into as a young person.

i remember reading a while back about some one on here that was asking about watch making school. i too think that it would be a good job but the starting pay from what i read didnt seem all that attractive. i remember somone mentioning that after your education at watch school you would probably start out making 40k a year.
