So for my upcoming Bday/Fathersday the wife gets me two shirts. BFD. Ones too small so I wear the other to the pool. It gets wet. "Your ruining your new shirt !" I thought they were to be worn. Go figure.
Now she's off to visit her parents for two weeks after I just scored a Volvo S-80 for her at $14k off sticker.

When I pick her up I want to be sporting a "new" watch.
I'm thinking about a grand will do and would prefer a nicely used waterproof autowinder.
Something I can wear every day in my rough and tumble landscape business without worry of trashing it.
Perhaps a diver type as I am hell on watches. The only one that I can make live now is the Casio G-shock.

So what would you get in a used bulletproof idiot-proof autowinder ?

And I want a dog too. Thats figured out; A golden Retriever.
My wife will be so pleased

If you REALLY want to get revenge I would recommend a slightly higher budget. I mean....you did just buy her a car.....

Splurge on something really nice for yourself. It sounds like you deserve it!

I agree! However at a grand I would look at Oris, Steinhart, possibly a lower end Tag or a Longines - depends on what you're after. Fortunately there's lots of options at that price, particularly in the used market. Good luck and have fun with the hunt!

I agree with Tim...if your budget is around $1,000 then I would look at Oris.

:yeahthat

I am with Tim and John. Oris would fit the bill price wise and they make some very nice divers. Check out their divers here: http://www.oris.ch/collections/collections.aspx?ln=en&collectionid=9

Good idea

A pre-beaten Seamaster would fit the bill, but might not have the desired first impact.

No way that budget matches the level of resentment there. At least double (if not triple) the budget and get yourself a nice Steelfish or something for wearing after work and a $150 G-Shock for work.

I remember years ago coming home with a 328 for my ex - not any occasion, just a regular day - and the first words out of her mouth were, "But I don't want a new car."

What about a tungston lum tec? They are about $1000 and i've heard they are indestructible. I think driver8 has one and likes it. Maybe mfserge? Check it out.

Plus if you search you can find a 10% code on line to get it down to $900

Under $1000 and automatic? here's afew I would go with.

1. The Victorinox Dive Master 500 Mecha
2. Tag Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 Automatic
3. Zinex Heliox Black Dial on Mesh (this one is alittle over $1000, but looks alot like the Breitling SOH )
4. Longines Hydroc
5. Oris Men's TT1 Titan Diver Watchonquest Watch

Thanks for the suggestions.
Leaning towards an Oris and may look at their Williams F1 line if I can be assured of their stoutness. I'm into Formula one pretty deep and Williams is one of my favorite teams.
Was also pondering a used U-boat but they may be too bling for me.
Awhile back I was looking at Montbrilliants and found some new ones at $4K or thereabouts.
A replacement zero-turn mower and dead computer took care of that budget.
A grand is about tops....
Unless I find that killer deal

That would be my vote too - on both counts.

It would be courting disaster, but a good retort would have been as follows:

"Great...first my mistress, and now you. Fine. I'll drive the f-ing thing myself then."

Let the good times roll!
