I wanna get a friend a Breitling but I need it to be 40mm or over, polished (not brushed or dull) and under $2000. (hopefully $1500 LoL). Thanks for any help.

This should be in the Breitling General Discussion section, but nonetheless...

You can get a SuperOcean off the internet for under $2000... I think they are around $1700-$1800 range. The Colt model, however, is known as the "entry level" Breitling and those would fit in your price range.

Hope that helps.

The Superocean Steelfish is hovering right around $2,000 on the grey market, it's an awesome watch, has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. It's 44mm and is part polished and part brushed; maybe not as shiny as you would like, but still really nice. From what I have read on this board, you may be able to find it at your price point from an AD, my options here are a little more limited. The Steelfish on the Pro II is stunning, check it out if you have the chance.

Agreed.

The Steelfish would be a nice piece to start with....44mm!

How much are 6.75's going for at the AD you guys go to? It really sucks when they can't even make their watch prices available to the public, it's really makes me made when I have to call stores to ask them watch prices lol.

Retail is $8835. What the actually "go for" would depend on the dealer.

The cheapest mens Breitling is the Colt Quartz, which retails for $2445 but can be had for under 2 grand.
The cheapest mens Breitling that is fully polished is the Colt Auto, which retails for $2695, and can be had for around 2 grand.

Other suggestions would be the Superocean (fully polished), the Colt GMT (fully polished), and the Steelfish (brushed).

Rey suggested using that car clock as part of a custom setup with a watch winder. Since it'll light up when powered it would no doubt look great if built into or around a cool winder ;)

Anyone want it? It's in the Buy/Sell section in the 'motherload' post ;)
