Cool shot, however....

It would be interesting to compare this pic with one of the same characteristics (size, close-up etc.) of a Steelfish.

Also, I would like to see a shot of your Sub without a full charge of the lume and compare it to a Fishie.

Com'on guys, at your cameras, let's make a comparison (my photographic skills are unfortunately non-existent).

Well to be fair, that appears to be at least 60 sec exposure. It's an awesome pic but not representative of what a Sub looks like on a new full charge. Having both Sub and Fish, the Fish has brighter lume at a fresh chanrge and lasts long. The Sub also has good intial lume, but not as bright as the Fish. They both drop off the torching appearance pretty quickly, more so for the Sub.

One of the things I really like about the Sub lume is it stops looking aglow in a short period of time and you see the normal dial appearance in lower lighting. I assume that was done on purpose. Either way I like it. I can be watching TV at night with just one other light in the room and the lumed markers look white. The lume is more subtle, not lower quality, if that makes sense.

The Fish, on the other hand, shows the lume in daylight if so much as a bird flies overhead. I like that too.

Pics please Tom?

I know your photographic skills are much better than mine. Plus, you have both pieces at hand.

It's noon here, I am at work, but will do what I can later. Which is my motto by the way - I'll do what I can......later.

In terms of premium watches, the best lume I have seen is Ulysse Nardin. There are so many less expensive divers watches, however, with lume just as good if not better. My old Bathys had fantastic lume. I suspect Lum-Tec watches are also good.

Thanks Tom, appreciate it.

Can't wait to see your pics, even though I know who the "winner" will be.

Yes they are. :D Unfortunately though my "camera" is my iPhone so I can't capture it at all!

But yes, Lum Tec is better than any Rolex I've seen, as are Doxa (especially the 5000T), Omega divers, Panerai, and Seiko. In fact, Seiko beats practically everything I've come across.

So yes, great picture........ but IMO definitely not the best lume in the world.

Fortunately I live 5 minutes from my office. Sub and Steelfish after 30 second UV light charge. Note the Steelfish appears white, that is the very brite green lume overwhelming the exposure.

Indeed they are. Although they were first destined for military (or special ops) use, no? Even if we see them in civil life as well.

My chronospace 2010 has the sickest Lume I have ever seen. And the blue on te deep sea is bad ass too but fr some reason the chronospace lights up during the day in bright light is so crazy.

The lume on my PO is ridiculous, my Blackbird ain't no slouch either but the PO is brighter initially and seems to last longer. I just got a Seiko SKX009J1 as a beater and while the lume is very good it doesn't compare to the PO.
