i saw this and could get lost in it for hours. if i had the disposable income i would definitely have one. i just thought i would share :wowzers :bow:

It's an amazing video, I presume the watch exists. But with a balance wheel rotating in 3 dimensions in a gyro cage, how can it possibly work as an escapement, ie control the watch movement?

Err, that's the whole point of a tourbillon - to rotate the escapement in order to negate the effects of gravity.

Yes, I know that... But the normal type tourbillon I've seen rotates in the plane of the watch face, so the escapement also stays in the plane of the watchface with the escapement system rotating around it.

The video shows the escapement rotating in the other two axes, vertically and horizontally spinning around the plane of the watch face - so I can't imagine how it 'connects' to the gear train. I hope that makes sense, it's hard to explain but the in the video I can't see how the escapement can possibly connect to the gears!

Its mesmerising, isn't it? i could watch it all day. I can imagine myself sitting at a set of traffic lights and looking down at the watch and then forgetting to drive off.
