As many know (are are sick of me meantioning it) I wear my black Steelfish, almost everyday....all day long.

Now when I bought the Navi 01 LE (and it is a fantastic watch), it was bought for wearing when going to dinner or evening (non work with my hands) times.

Fast forward to the PAM 312 pickup and now ....well.... the Navi 01 has only been worn once, the Bell & Ross Phantom worn once, the silver Steelfish hasn't been on my wrist at all and the BreitlingSource Steinhart LE1.... not at all either. BUT anytime I take the daily off and trade up I seem to grab the 312. I dont know what it is, but it is my favorite....hands down, of the current collection (black Steelfish being the exception).

I feel a little guilty that the Navi 01 LE didn't get a lot of wrist time (and love) before the Pam 312 arrived to draw my attension away. :) IF and its a big IF, I manage to snag a PAM 382 Bronzo I wonder if the watch collection wont need thinned even more. I could see the Bronzo crowding out the attension spot for my casual/out on the town watch, over even the 312. Now to rationalize spending $10k on a stinkin wristwatch!

Heck for that I could get a used Dornblueth AND a SubC....maybe! But everytime I see the Bronzo picture I start drooling. Damn you Panerai and your design team! :)

bronco if the 382 is singing to you then you got to do what you got to do. it might make sense to sell some pieces and put the money towards the 382 considering the other pieces would now be that fat chick that you might only call late on a saturday night after the bar when your buddies arent around. What? Like im the only one that did this when I was younger :D

Well I'm not exactly going to criticise you for liking the bronzo

I have watches that don't get worn often, but every now and then I'll go to a watch box and see a piece that hasn't been part of the rotation for a while. I'll think back to where I was in my life at that point and consider how things have changed since. I might just grab the watch and add it to the rotation for a little while. It's comforting to know that it will still be there waiting for me.

You may not wear some of your watches much at the moment, but who knows how you will feel in 12 months, or 3 years, or 10 years, or 50 years. The watches in your collection will still be perfectly functional pieces at that point in time so if you don't have to sell any, then don't do it simply on your temporary feelings at the moment.

Just the ramblings of a WIS who doesn't sell

I have a personal limit on the number of watches that I can own, which I have reduced recentely, and a stern rule regarding watches that dont get worn often, sell em and get something else that will! For instance I sold an Omega PloProf, which for all intents and purpouses is a fantastic watch that I liked very much, but decided that the space would better be served by a ROO Safari, and so on. There are too many options to try, and I enjoy evolving the collection! But to each his own style.

About the Bronzo, be prepared to pay over retail! I was only able to confirm one piece for myself and I ordered 2 minutes after the announcement came out and paid 25% up front, I have a second on order at another boutique for a friend but that one is iffy, most retailrs stopped taking order a long time ago so the secondary market is the only option so far.

Good news, Panerai will most certainly come out with a non LE version (though not a sub) maybe a 1950 case in bronze, though I dont see a Rad with that material.

I am only giving myself about a 60% chance of securing one. I placed the order with my Breitling AD who ISN'T a Panerai AD but is a massive watch seller with 25 different brands. They appearantly have a connection or two with a Panerai AD (or 2) and are trying to get one in. They did, however, tell me that the Panerai AD didn't know if the dealers would even get this model or if they were only going to the boutiques. The Panerai AD did place a request for one, ultimately for me....through my usual AD. SO.... if it does happen, I expect to pay exactly retail with no tax (out of state). I just dont think the odds are in my favor, but we will see.

Retailers will get them, for sure. The only Boutique limited ones are the regional releases like the Chrono I just picked up, hope you do get one! Full retail is what they usually go for if you do not have an exceptional connection with your AD, but even then it is great value!

Absolutely understandable Bronco... Wait till you go to your first Paneristi GTG, it'll be much, much worse

Here in Indonesia, there's about 30 of us who get together at least once a month for coffee, beer and just to shoot the breeze. Remarkable how well we all get along, based on just the love of a watch brand.

That sound a little more hopefull, expecially since the word from the Panerai AD was that they hadn't had anyone reserve one yet! If my AD was the actual Panerai AD I would likely be able to get some kind of a discount (likely 5-10%) off this model, but if they do get one they will be basically buying it from the Panerai AD on my behalf and I dont suspect there will be a giant discount given to them before they pass it on to me. :(

....now where did I hide that extra $10k..... :)

The way Breitling's going this year it'll be cheaper than a SuperAvenger by the time it hits ADs
