Yesterday I had a fun trip. I was invited to visit the Hirsch Leatherstrap production in Klagenfurt (Austria). We took a PA-28 to get there (its just about an hour flight from the airport around the corner, where I live), was great sunshine weather and a really nice flight. The process of making a high quality strap is amazing. It takes about 60 steps to finisch one strap, most of them manually. They also produce most of the original straps for all better watchbrands. And they are technology leader in strap production worldwide. Was really amazing. And its really interesting, what quality features You have to look for. Sorry, I forgot my camera and took no pics. Some of them. And by the way, even if I had had a camera with me, I would not have been allowed to take photographs in the production area. BG Thomas |
