I decided to move on my 18ct Gold 24Hr Chronomatic LE because I wasn't wearing it. I know, I know. I did love the concept of it but I've realised I'm not really a precious metal kind of a guy when it comes to watches. I'll no doubt pick up a Cosmonaute one day to partially make up for it.

Sam at Andrew Michaels helped me sell it and also locate my next watch, which I will definitely wear a lot. In fact I was very excited to hear that it is ready to pick up when I want it. Should be next week some time, abw.

Here is a well used press picture of the extraordinary update of this true classic. I promise to post pictures and a mini review after I've picked it up.

Having sold the Chronomatic I have still got a lot of watch funds left for another new timepiece, which I'm giving serious consideration to and will not rush into. It's all very exciting indeed.

Ricardo, Ricardo, Ricardo.... you've joined the ranks of the Submariner drones! :poke:

That's a real shame to see the gold CM go as I think that was a REALLY stunning and rare piece, that you just NEVER see on anyone's wrist. With the Submariner you're going to lose that uniqueness, which I think is a bit of a shame.

That said, if you weren't wearing the CM then that uniqueness is somewhat redundant anyway, so in that regard you've made a good decision....... although it seems like a good "head" over "heart" decision to me. But in all seriousness the new Subbie is a great update of a classic piece, plus it's extremely wearable on a daily basis, so it's guaranteed some wrist-time which is ultimately what a watch is all about.

Congrats!

Gutted

1) You swapped the CM for 'that'
2) I didn't know that the CM was available

I've gone off you

Goes to show you, I would take the Sub over the CM any day, and I assume you even saved some cash. I repeat, great move

Yeah you can shut up as well.

Haven't you got to go back to manipulating world oil prices just so that you can buy more watches :poke:

ricardo GREAT MOVE! trust me you will love the Subc. it might occupy your wrist 90% of the time. since i got mine i dont even realize that i have other watches to wear. it just seems to go with everything. and surprisingly big for the dial size. IMO Roles just did everything right with this watch, and this is coming from a former Rolex hater

Great move Ricardo. The ceramic sub is a beautiful watch, and if you were not wearing the CM then it must have been an easy decision. Congrats!!

+1. Ware it well and in good health. I to will own one some day, not for a while thought! Makes me a bit unsettled with what Rolex can come up with at their price point ( Sub C ) compared to with what Breitling are coming up with. Rubber bezels and all. . . . .

That's right Altair.

I actually made money on the CM LE and I got 20% off the Sub, which sounded pretty good to me.

This all means I have watch tokens left over, which I intend to sit on, unless Sam dropd another superb deal in my lap. :?
