Almost exactly a year ago I posted this - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18700 - about how I really like Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawks, but they didn't make exactly the version I was looking for. (Either steel but too small, right size but titanium, right size and steel but rubber bezel, etc). Well, it seems someone at GP has been listening to me! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's got a 44mm steel case with a helium valve, a screw-in crown, a unidirectional rotating bezel in steel ![]() ![]() (Now.... I wonder how much it'll cost. ![]() |

I like that a lot. The dial finish (can't really call it guilloche) is very attractive and the overall look really works for me. The bezel seems rather large relative to the dial, but that's not a bad thing. I don't think that GP has announced a price yet, but I doubt that they'll be giving them away in boxes of Wheaties. ![]() |

Its a good looking watch, but ive always hated the crown at that position as it makes the case shape look like a blob. A 3 o.clock crown would the trick for me. |

Very nice, and I agree with Roff about the dial finish. Shame about the date position, but that's just a pet hate of mine. |

Wow, gorgeous watch. Agree about the date position but i don't think it would put me off. Rough guesses about list price? blog.perpetuelle.com/ recently did a small review of it. |

Roffensian wrote: I doubt that they'll be giving them away in boxes of Wheaties. ![]() Ain't that the truth! That said, previous versions has always be available on the grey market at reasonably reduced prices, so I'm guessing at least some kind of discount will be available from friendly AD's..... I shouldn't imagine the pricing will be radically different to the current models as it's practically identical, save for including all the best bits from their existing range into one model. (Hmmmmm, saying it like that, I now wouldn't be surprised if they end up being priced horrendously!) |

Very very nice. I've always considered the Sea Hawk one of the most under-rated divers. I've had the pleasure of trying one of these on and it was as well finished and imposing as any other I have seen. I'm with you Mr Driver. This is the nicest version they've brought out. Even if the position of the date window may take a little getting used to. ![]() |

In fact, GP in general gets very few mentions on here, and they make some superb pieces. |

Hi Driver8 I have to admit i really do like the GP SeaHawks although unlike you i much prefer the SeaHawk Pro 2 in Ti that was number 3 in your previous post as prefer the styling with the sweep second hand and semi circle power reserve meter to the newer style. I just missed out on a great deal on one which was ex display @£3000 instead of the list of £7400 as couldn't decide between it and a 48mm Corum Competition Cup in Ti and becuase i hesitated i lost my chance on it. In the end i decided against the Corum and got a new Pam 111 M series instead which although i love and am very happy with really would of liked the SeaHawk more i think and am still on the look out for one at a decent price. Very nice D8, the best GP I've seen, barring the odd position of the date. I'll be interested to see the price. |

I see quite a few of you don't like the date position, but bizarrely I actually really like it! It's such an asymmetric dial layout anyway, that I think it really suits it. |

Goes to show you no two people have the same exact taste! As much as I find most of your choices appealing I have to say that does absolutely nothing for me! To each his own though and it is good news they finally came out with one that fits your bill!!! ![]() |
