There's so much about this watch I should hate but I love it. That's how you do black with red accents.

I agree.

If someone had said that there was a watch that was going to be vulcanized to that the whole thing was covered in rubber I would have screwed my nose up, but dang that looks good. Not sure that I would want to live with it though.

Yes, but just a bit too much of the wave pattern. It's on the dial, the bezel and the strap. IMO it would look better if at least one of these was left smooth.

But you gotta say for UN, their LE's are interesting. They did the blues and now they are doing some cool blacks.

Agreed. I loved the Hammerhead Shark LE from last year.

I think its a nice watch. Rubber coated case? Seems like a pain. I cant help but think that if Breitling released something like this, everybody here would crap on it. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but I think since none of us plan on actually buying this watch we are able to distance ourselves from it and embrace it.

I was just thinking the same thing. This watch has all the features that everyone here hates about the latest breitling models. I don't like it much.

Corum has been killing the black and rubber set up for years. I'd take the corum over that un anyday. But it's not too bad

Yeah but if Breitling did that they'd probably do it to every watch in the line-up. The Blacksteel was pretty well recieved a couple years ago, then half the line-up had an "LE" of 2000 or so Blacksteel versions. UN is probably not gonna do that.

Didn't IWC also make an AT with a rubber coated case, the Gallapogos maybe?

I'm shocked so many of you like this monstrosity! I think it's truly hideous. Those of you who said if Breitling made this we'd hate it....., well you're right, we would all hate it. As it is, UN have made it and I still think it's horrible. The name on it makes no difference - a grim design is a grim design.

:yeahthat

Just don't like it. Swing and a miss by UN, in my opinion.

As a fan of the Maxi-Marine line, I really liked this one when I saw the pictures....UNTIL I read vulcanized rubber coating. Well that scratched this one off the list. If this dude was DLC I would seriously think about it. A+ for effort and styling, C- for stupid rubber coating and non-in house movement. NEXT..... :)
