Lets see what caught your attention. Personally, I think this latest incarnation of the Daytona is fantastic http://blog.perpetuelle.com/ Never like the gold Daytona, but this one with its 5n red gold and ceramic high tech bezel is superb! The chocolate dial, black strap, and ceramic numerals are very nice touches! In my opinion sport watches have no business being made in gold, but some TT models and this one, with its played down elements, really do work! Too bad its 40mm, as thats too small for me in the sport watch category. The new Glashutte Original Senator is superb, clean lines and a classy look made with exquisite finishing and care. A great dress watch at just over 40mm. I dont have a pure dress watch as of yet and this is a strong contender. http://www.perpetuelle.com/UsrViewForum ... &Catid=165 (one post down) The new Breguet models are stunning as usual http://www.breguet.com/breguet/2011/?id=5 |

Also forgot to mention the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph (Ref. 5270) Great classic styling and for a PC simple yet functional, and at 41mm (huge in PP standards) quite wearable as a dressier piece. The most drool worthy new watch however is the new Lange Zeitwerk Striking http://www.alange-soehne.com/cms/en/index.html Gorgeous watch, perfect dimensions at 44mm, and a truly amazing movement. And it plays Beethoven symphonies! Thankfully, nothing I have seen so far is enough to entice me to change my plans, as most are nice but nothing mind blowing (other than the Lange, which is out of my range) |

I agree with you about all of those, Altair. I'm not a gold guy normally, but there is something very striking about that new RG Daytona. Some of those Glashuttes look great too (not really a fan of the 70s one though). |

The PP Triple Complication in paltinum(42mm - why Patek you are pushing your own envelope - and Breguet Hora Mundi (whopping 44mm and a pure work of art) are hands down winners for me. Not that I will ever own one (the Breguet is clearly too large anyway). Breguet deserves high marks for not reinventing but dramatically improving the Type XXI. They just nailed it. ![]() I thought I would be all over the Ceramic bezel Daytona, but upon first sight my reaction was "oh, no,no." It didn't change upon 2d or 3d looks. Different strokes and all. I am impressed with the bracelet improvements for the Exploper. Given my wrist limitations the 42mm size increase is a largely irrelevant for me. The 40mm rolex professional models are just the right length - lug end to lug end - for me. Rather long for the diameter. I suspect the 42mm version would be a bit on the edge of the length limit for me. I certainly understand the enthusiasm of those not as "radiocarpaly" challenged as I. But the shape and color of the GMT hand leaves me flat. Once again, different strokes. |

Thanks for the Info! I am not a real Rolex fan, but that Yachtmaster II is one of the ugliest watches, they ever presented. I agree, the redgold daytona looks nice with that dial. The Harry Winston looks interesting, but hardly sellable... BG Alien |

There are some stunning watches in that first link. Love the Breguet and Patek Perpetual Calendar Chrono in particular, just awesome looking watches. I also agree with the comments on the GO Senator and the Daytona. So far this has been a fantastic Basel! |
