My interest in Patek has been greatly accelerated thanks to Doc's posting of that great video. I stopped by the Patek AD and have to say, many watches that I had thought to be boring and brushed aside as bland looked absolutely mesmerizing in real life. One watch in particular, the 5712 in red gold, absolutely blew me away. I was afraid it might be a bit too small for my wrists but as soon as I slapped it on my wrist I was in love. The watch just exudes an aura of elegance and casual sportiness that is impossible for me to describe. The movement, wow. Watching it in action through the case back, feeling it while setting the time. Just magnanimous. The 43MM case is, to say the least, perfectely formed. The finish is a reminder of what a hand made product should be, just pure perfection.

Here is a list of its specifications:

Self-winding
Moon phases, date and power reserve indication (wow)
Seconds subdial at 4 o’clock
Water resistant: 60 m (due to push pieces)
Sapphire crystal case back
New Nautilus fold-over clasp (best designed clasp ever)
Strap widths Case x Buckle: 25 x 18 mm
Case dimensions: 43 x 38 mm

I intend on getting this watch in 2009, in the mean time here are some pics.

From Patek's website:

These new Nautilus Ref 5712 G in 18 K white gold and the Ref. 5712 R in 18K rose gold are worn on hand-stitched, large-scale alligator straps in brown (rose gold) or safari black (white gold). Apart from displaying the hours and minutes, they have a subsidiary seconds dial at 4 o’clock, a power-reserve indicator between 10 and 11 o'clock, and an analog date at 7 o’clock with an integrated moon-phase display. They have a three-part case with a sapphire-crystal case back, a screw-down crown, and a moon-phase corrector push piece in the side of the case. The corrector limits the water resistance of the watches to 60 meters. The movement is the self-winding Patek Philippe caliber 240 PS IRM C LU movement which despite its sophistication is merely 3.98 mm high, thanks to the 22K gold minirotor recessed in the main plate.

Sorry gents, but that does absolutely nothing for me.

There's no doubting the quality, but the styling doesn't move me at all I'm afraid......

I've never been a fan of the "ears" on the nautilus models... but I wouldn't turn it down if someone here were to send me one as a gift! :D
