Hi guys just ordered an Orange Monster but would like some ideas and pics if possible on alternative straps as mine is on steel,thanks for any help

I think an orange/grey NATO strap would look good on a Monster.

I have a black MOnster and like it on steel. Although make sure you read about remiving links in the bracelet.

Yeah, I've heard the same. Mine was on rubber when I had it though, so I don't have first-hand experience of the bracelet.

I had a "black monster" - i.e. an oranage monster with a black dial a few years back, but it was on rubber so I've no experience of the bracelet. What are these issues with removing links? I've not heard of it before......

Very fiddly and awkward to remove links, apparently. There are some exasperated reviews around.

Well its arrived today and needs no adjusting except on the clasp.Must say for the money this is an awesome watch the lume is brilliant lteraly and its my first dive watch.Comes just as my OLd Navi has to go to BUK for a small winding problem so all is well with me now still be looking out for straps though.

Congrats! They really are great value for an auto. The only thing you may find is the timekeeping out of the box usually tends to be a little on the "rapid" side! The movements are pretty much untouched by human hands during the construction process, so 9 times out of 10 they tend to gain significantly. However, a quick regulation at a local watchsmith will usually take care of that. The movement is incredibly simple (it doesn't eeven hack!) but that also makes it very rugged. For a cheap utilitarian watch they're hard to beat.

Yea Driver8 will leave it a while to settle down before doing anything about the time keeping think it will still make me nervous going near water after using the Navi for so long,still annoyed about that going wrong 6 months after a complete overhaul and before that never a problem.Dont trust the French postal system to get it to BUK so its gonna be a flight back to get it fixed,ce la vie
Another strange thing about the monster I didnt know is you cant wind it manualy thats realy weird !!!!!

I use mine for scuba diving and I must say, they are very tough. I dropped mine several times by accident, its been at 30 metres deep, in the cold waters of Scotland and the warm ones of Australia. I treat it without any of the special considerations that my high end watches get and it's never 'complained' or stopped working.

As Driver8 has said, it's good value for money if this is the kind of watch you're looking for.

Timely post, I was thinking an OM could almost be a beater watch to take a chance on and see how I like an orange face while I save my pennies for a Coral SO. What do you all think of the baby monster? Too much of a departure from Monsters heritage with 4 0'clock crown and such? Does the different movement and see through case back make it too different to be monster-esque? I really like the bit of black on the dial and the orange bit on the bazel...but like the crown position and "grooves" in the basel/case of the original Monster better. Thoughts Looking like an OM can be had for less than $200 and the Baby Monster for about $150-ish.
