I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I was wondering what's the difference between the PAM 111 with the 6497 and the PAM 111 with the 6497 and the engraved panerai all over the movement? Is it a year, model, price? If anyone could inform me on the topic I would greatly appreciate it thanks.

There's only one model of the 111, but it does change gradually over time (e.g. the change from painted dial to sandwich dial).

I'm not sure about this issue specifically, but if there is one with 'Panerai' engraved all over the movement, I would say it's an older model.

Yes, Otto's right. I have a 112, the last year with engraved back. To the year after that they changed the back, and also introduced the sandwich dial on the 112.

PAM 111 and 112 was produced since 2002 (E Serie) replacement of PAM 1 and 2.
Previously from serie E F G (2002-2004) they were painted-dial but from H serie onward till present they are sandwich-dial.
