I know this wont as well exepted as i may hope but still!

I looked at the new tag 1887 with there 1st in house movment! yes, yes i know about the seiko relation to the movment but its a massive step for tag! the price is very good aswell, around £2.5k, whitch in my opinion for a VERY well designed inhouse watch is a fantastic price! i was looking at it for ages today and am absoloutly blown away! i would love it as my next watch!

I like the movement design a lot, but think the watch as a whole is quite boring. It just looks too generic to me.

I really like the look of the 1887 movement, but it just ain't an in-house movement, and the Tag CEO has actually said as much! It's an evolution of the the SII (Seiko) TC78..... which IMO doesn't move it really that much further than a modified ETA.

That said, if you like the watch then go for it! I'm just not a fan of it being marketed by Tag as in-house when it just isn't.

Well, the 1887 is not the first inhouse movement from TAG Heuer, but its the first, they want to produce in larger quantities. I was recently told, that they plan to build 50.000 movements per year. So expect the movement in more automatic chronographs in the future.
