when I had a member in my forum contacted me about the idea of a trade for a Korsbek Oceaneer. What I am wondering is if I don't like the watch how is the resale on this brand. It's a good looking watch in the pic but I have no idea how the WIS community views this watch brand. I had placed a value at $1700.00 for my watch and he was going to give me an extra $400.00 for the trade and he told me I could keep the Pro I bracelet and sell that to recoup some more money. My watch was just overhauled and runs an amazing +1 over 4 days and looks like new after they refinished the case. The work was done by a Rolex AD and their watchmaker is Rolex certified, he trained in Switzerland for 3 years. He is the best watchmaker I have ever found. I would really like to get a PO XL but I am giving this trade some thought, am I making a mistake? Here are pics of my watch as well as his. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

For me (owner of two of them), the Steelfish is hands down better and in a different caliber than that Korsbek Oceaneer. i wouldn't even place the Korsbek Oceaneer in the same league as Oris and they are fantastic watches. I guess you have to ask yourself the main reason WHY your even concidering it. The Steelfish is one of, if not the best buy from Breitling. Super rugged watch and super water proof. I am not the best judge for the PO. I haven't ever been a giant Omega fan. Oh and unless the watch is serviced at a Breitling service center I wouldn't associate a value with the servicing. Even though your extremely happy with it and I'm sure that he did a wonderfull job, its just not the same. A full service service from Breitling definitely improves the value of these watches and you get a year warranty from them. |

Worse, it could increase the cost of a Breitling authorised service as Breitling will know that it wasn't a Breitling authorised watchmaker who did the work (non Breitling parts used, reuse of hands) and Breitling doesn't liek that even if it is a properly trained professional. |

There is no denying the quality of the Steelfish, I love the watch but like any other collector I am fickle. A year ago I loved watch X now watch Y appeals to me. I am very reluctant to do this deal on the Korsbek, while I have read good things about the brand my concern is will they be around down the road. I do love the look of the Omega PO XL, there have been negative posts in several forums about the 2500c movement stopping and starting which apparently with the newer 8500 has fixed the issue. I'm not bashing just passing along what I have read. |

I'm not bashing just passing along what I have read. I never owned a steelfish but tried one on. I like my PO much better. I have had NO issues with the movement. It works very well. As a matter of fact there was a threat on WUS posted by someone who was sick of the complaints. You should have seen all the support for the movement and how much people who love their PO. It's very versatile as well. It looks good on anything you can throw at it -- leather, rubber, steel, nato -- what ever, it looks good. Like the SOSF it has a double AR coating which looks really good with the matt black dial. That dial makes the polished/heavily lumed indices and the polished hands really pop. It's very legible in all conditions -- bright light, complete darkness (lume is awesome), under water, what ever. The only thing that I didn't like initially, but it's growing on me, is the curved bracelet .. and the fact that it doesn't have micro adjustments. |

The Steelfish is often called (with the Colt) the Breitling of the poor but IMO it clearly has one of the best value for money. It also is one of the most comfortable watches around, especially with OEM straps, and is extremely versatile and resistant. Not to talk about its legendary precision for a mechanical watch. |

Don't do it. With all respect to that Korsbek, it's no PO, and if a PO is what you want then you should hold out for one. |

Thanks for the comments guys, I am going to steer clear of the Korsbek. I would really like to own a PO XL, I'm up in the air as to whether or not I want to part with the Steelfish. Maybe I should wait until the end of the first quarter of this year, sales have been better and the bonus could be a good one so maybe I'll just buy one. I really, really want one and I would like to keep my B at the same time. |

I really want to hold on to my Steelfish at the same time I really want the PO. It looks like the first 1/4 of this year could be good for sales so the bonus could be substantial. I just my keep the B and buy a good used PO. Once again, thanks for your feedback guys. |

If after you get it you decide that you don't need the Fish you could always flip it then, but I think they're different enough, looks wise, that keeping both of them would offer you a nice way to switch it up once in a while. |
