I'm not sure if this has been posted here before, but I can't help but share this horror with the rest of you. I was at the University of Cambridge earlier this week interviewing for the MBA program. During my day, I received a tour of the city from a guide. Prior to arriving in front of this atrocity, she told us that Cambridge was the site of the world's largest grasshopper escapement. Being a watch guy, I got excited by this news . . . until she pointed to the window.

I can appreciate that it's a revolutionary design, but why in the world does it have to be so ugly?!

At first look I thought digital/electronic...who cares? But the fact that it is entirely mechanical except for the illumination IMO is darned fascinating. I think it's really quite cool but you're right, it is ugly. I'm really not sure they could have made it any uglier if they had tried.

That was in the 60s! Probably meow these days!
