I'm not sure if this has been posted here before, but I can't help but share this horror with the rest of you. I was at the University of Cambridge earlier this week interviewing for the MBA program. During my day, I received a tour of the city from a guide. Prior to arriving in front of this atrocity, she told us that Cambridge was the site of the world's largest grasshopper escapement. Being a watch guy, I got excited by this news . . . until she pointed to the window.

I can appreciate that it's a revolutionary design, but why in the world does it have to be so ugly?!

I didn't realize that acid was so popular at Cambridge.

At first look I thought digital/electronic...who cares? But the fact that it is entirely mechanical except for the illumination IMO is darned fascinating. I think it's really quite cool but you're right, it is ugly. :) I'm really not sure they could have made it any uglier if they had tried.
