Hey guys. I have been on a vintage watch spree the last couple months, and i just picked up a couple of pieces. I got a Le Coultre automatic alarm gold filled, an Omega manual wind military issue (with aluminum case) with a 47mm case!! Does anyone know anything about these 2 pieces. I could use some help from a vintage expert. I will go to my watch maker next week to open up the back and get the model numbers. Also a pic of a Rolex oyster royal i just got restored. Thanks guys. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I really don't know much if anything at all concerning vintage pieces but I'm wondering, if you haven't had the backs off yet to have a look at the movements how do you know they're real? I'm not saying they're not, I'm just trying to learn. ![]() Thank you. |

I bought it from a trusted dealer i've known for years, and he did show me the movements. I didn't write down the numbers though or take pics of the movement. I guess its more of a case of buying the seller rather than the watch. |

I suspect the Omega might be a recased pocket watch. In terms of the Lecoultre have a read of this post, it should tell you what you need to know. (You may have to join the forum to see the whole thing) http://jlc.watchprosite.com/show-forump ... 71238/s-0/ |

Aurthur, nice pick-ups on those vintage pieces sir! I just pulled the trigger today on a nice 1954 10k gold filled JLC (LeCoultre) Memovox Alarm with the Caliber 489 winder movement and the more rare black dial. The seller also provided a 10k gold filled bracelet and new alligator leather strap. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
