Just saw this brand crop up in another thread, which was pretty fortuitous for me since I was looking at them earlier today.

I was watching Men in Black on TV earlier and couldn't help but notice the Hamilton Ventura which was part of the uniform. I'd noticed it the first time I saw the film, but that was before I developed my appreciation for watches. I Googled it and did a little digging and came across this absolutely gorgeous model:

It will be a while before I'm in a position to even see one in person since there are no Hamilton ADs in Southern Ireland (though I may be going up to Belfast early in the new year, and apparently there's one stockist there, so we'll see what happens), but I was wondering if anyone had any insights about the brand, and the Ventura model specifically?

Its a fairly well respected brand. Sort of like the beginner's entry into the world of quality swiss watches. High bang for your buck ratio.

Having said that, im not a fan at all of the watch that you posted.

I agree with RJ although I kind of went Backwards. I got two Breitlings then just got my Hamilton XWind the other day. I didnt get it for the Tech or Movement. I just loved the way it looked. Plus the lady gave me her credit at the jeweler we go to :D

Having said that I am not a fan of the Ventura. Even though Elvis wore it in Blue Hawaii. :strummin:

I love Hamilton watches. I've owned several and found them to be an awesome value. That being said, most of them are ugly. But they get 2 or 3 decent looking models a year.

Here is one of mine that I really love.

I also have a few pics of this one, that I've since sold...

Hamilton offers a lot of watch for the money. Great first mechanical watch option, and a nice brand to grow a collection with if you dont want to break the bank. The Hamilton Dodson was my first mechanical, and I figure I will get one of their field watches as a beater sometime soon.
