My Christmas 2010 present to me – the Zenith Vintage 1969 El Primero, an LE of 500. It just kept growing on me. 40mm, but a longish case. “And that’s what Christmas is about, Charlie Brown.”

I'm very enamored with Zenith at the moment. Although I couldn't see myself wearing this particular one, it's a great vintage example of Zenith and a very interesting piece. I can certainly appreciate it. Wear it in good health, Sharkman. Had the Navi 01 not been released, I may have had a Chronomaster XXT Open under the tree right now instead.

I handled a Navi 01 today - very nice indeed.

This piece is different for sure and I really didn't like it about 6 months ago. But every trip to the AD, I found myself considering it more and more. Now that I don't have the Pam, this fits the bill nicely for something completely different to the collection. So in the interest of extending variety, this one did it for me. I am finding my choices more limited as I accept smaller watches are right for me.

I'm running out of things to say each time you buy a watch. I am just going to grab my popcorn & coke...and enjoy the show.

Since your AD is most likely closed tomorrow I guess we'll all have to wait until Sunday for the next addition!! Congrats on a very unique piece with an outstanding movement....just beautiful. I think you need a Chronomaster in the Zenith collection. :poke:

Congrats Sharky, great watch and very unique look! I couldnt warm up to the different colour subdials myself but it is a very handsome piece with a great movement! I think Zenith will retake a portion of the market if they keep heading in this new direction!

I know, the subs were originally off-putting to me. But I did some research over time and found this 40th Anniversary piece was a true homage to the real deal, without being a mere remake. Some updated styling, a larger case, but faithful to the old piece.

IDK, my tastes run pretty conservative in more than watches. Roff has his "weird" watches. The 40th Anniversary Vintage El Primero is my "weird" watch and clear and convincing proof of just how straight laced my taste runs.

Sheesh - it's 9:30 and my kid is still sleeping. There's a watch under the tree with her name on it, damnit! Patience is not one of my virtues.

Merry Christmas to you all and your family and friends. :santa: May the new year give you continued success, recovered losses, sustained health for the fortunate, and renewed healing and comfort for those who suffer.

I'm dying to know what you bought your daughter. My apologies if I missed this on another thread . . .

I didn't realize the multi-colored subs were on the older Zeniths. That makes me appreciate it a little more.

A Chopard Happy Sport/Happy Diamonds. There is a thread called something like "Chistmans Present for my daughter." (yeah, I mispelled Christmas in the older thread. )
