The watch is from Laco, Super cool and attractive design of the famous Luftwaffe Beobachter Uhr (Obsevetions watch) from the Second World War. Laco produce different versions of this watch, which all lie close to the original. The biggest difference between the new and old B-Uhr from the 1930s and '40s is its size. The original was intended to have it over a jacket so they were big - 55mm, against the new which was scaled down to 42 mm and a shorter strap. They are made in 3 classes - Series 0, Series 1 and Geschwader Collection. Features and Functions • ETA 2824 2 mechanical automatic movement, 25 jewels • Serie 0 • Shock protected • Unbreakable mainspring • See through glass back (mineral crystal) • Stainless steel casing 42 mm in diameter • Luminous figures • Date display window at 3 o’clock • Black or brown leather strap • Will withstand water pressure of up to 5 atm • Scratch resistant mineral glass • Screw-down back and crown • Fully wound running time approximately 40 hours A man has it for sale, here in Denmark, and i may be interested in buying it, if it´s not some cheap fake watch...? So I thought that maybe you could help.. and mabe some of you new the brand.. Thx. Mike From Denmark |

If it were me I would pay a bit more and get a Stowa. I've handled a few Lacos and the fit and finish doesn't feel that great compared to the Stowa that they are trying to compete against. Technically, it's a totally standard ETA movement with just engraving on the standard rotor, so the DB isn't the most attractive view. |

As far as I can see, Stowa uese the same movement (ETA 2824-2 25 jewels) as the Laco?? |

It comes down to a few things that differentiate Stowa and Laco, in my opinion. With Stowa, you have the option to get a COSC certified movement (much better than anything LACO offers). The materials are better with Stowa as well (sapphire crystal vs. mineral crystal on most Lacos). It's difficult to tell, but the case construction for the Stowa's is much better, IMO. |
