Picked up the JLC Master Calendar that caught my eye. These pics don’t do it justice. 40mm, but looks larger. Display back. Nicely done striated silver dial – well balanced. The moon and stars are high polished applied gold. It’s odd looking at the moon, noticing a face, then realizing it’s yours.
Seems my tastes are getting somewhat smaller, but here is a watch I can wear with anything. Methinks it may become my new work day power watch!

Wow, I like that design. Very clean dial but still has all the calendar functions and PR. What color are the hands and PR indicator ? They look to be a darker shade in the pics. Definitely a dressy/classy piece.

Great pick up  .

I love that watch. Like most watches, I think it is much better looking in person than in pictures. Hopefully my watch fund will be at an adequate level for the next Sharkman Liquidators Quarterly Sale. Congratulations on your purchase!

The small seconds and power reserve hands are steeled blue - the hour/minutes hands are rhodium.

I coveted the Master Control series since before my first Ling, then fell into the false belief they were too small. Silly boy.

What's this? You trying to keep mserge from out doing you with his JLC Extreme World Alarm? :poke: :brewing:

That is a very clean looking watch there sir. I like the month, day, date layout and the added moon phase complication is slick...not too mention the reserve indicator. A lot packed into a very clean and neat package. Congrats on a very nice pickup and wear it in good health.

It ain't gonna get ya some like your flashy Ling you designed. :poke: :nana:

Needed a classic, understated dress watch. I'm overflowing with sports watches.

JLC Master Control understated? Sir that watch is anything but understated and is nothing but pure CLASS.

No, understated compared to, say, a Bentley GT or such. Classy - absolutely. I am not worthy of such a fine watch.

I had one on today - BIG! And pricey. Yikes!

Also tried a very simple memovox alarm. I'd like an alarm watch. Pretty cool, but the one they had just didn't do it for me.

Actually this master calendar wears kinda large - at 40mm it's almost 14mm thick.

I know what you mean. I've tried some large watches (44mm) and now seem to be looking at the more reasonable sizes at 40-42mm again, better fit for me :) . It's been an expensive learning curve :? .

This is a beauty-- have tried one on myself but found it a tad too large-- you're definitely right in that it feels a fair bit bigger than 40mm. Health to wear and enjoy! It feels like a really quality piece as well, and definitely doesn't come up well in photos.

Talk about a well designed dial!!!! Usually the calender watches are a bit busy, but this packs everything in, and still reads very easily.
