Is there a lower risk of fakes/scams in this forum than in Ebay?

Less risk here without a doubt. Even a pretty good fake doesn't last a couple hours here. We are too mean.

No fakes here, but few scams occurred during the years.

I've been shopping for a nice ling for a few weeks now and when I found this forum, I noticed some of the watches being sold here are also in Ebay.

Treat members here just the same as anyone else. You don't "know" anyone here, so check references, check the feedback forum, etc. It's easier to check people out here, and there is obviously better policing of fakes - most of you never know when a fake gets listed for sale because it disappears quickly. That said, we aren't immune from crooks any more than anywhere else is, so act with caution.

The most of the "regulars", completely.
Also a good number of "non regulars" are completely trusted for me.

I think I'd go with eBay. You can always post a link to the auction here and people will look.

Plus you get the benefit of eBay's protection. But the best protection is to use a credit card and do a chargeback if you need to.

I didn't think you can post a link from another auction here. Is this accurate?

You just can't post a link to your watch if you're selling it

Just to clarify, if I was not the seller of a watch, then it's okay for me to post a link of that seller's auction.

Yes. It happens a lot here - "Hey what do you guys think?"

I would trust more most of the members here than on e-Bay but that doesn't mean you shouldn't proceed with the usual caution.

To be clear......

The only acceptable linking to eBay auctions is to assist in identification of whether it is real or not.
