No pictures yet.. just wanted to know what you guys thought of Doxas? I always thought they were the most hideous watches I had ever seen and couldn't understand why people wanted them.. but then I took one in on a trade for the Tudor.. guy was local and I got a good deal so I decided to try the Doxa out.. worse case I sell it, right? ![]() So.. what do you guys think? Just wanted to hear your thoughts before I shared mine and the pics.. Oh yes and i know: ![]() |

I've always quite liked the retro shape to the case (looks like something from a 60's Bond movie) and I'll just about allow the coral dial as it's their trademark feature! ![]() |

Nice watch if you're colour blind and lack taste. I mean the coral club guys are a little 'out there', but Doxa orange is just wrong. |

...Doxa orange is just wrong. Gotta disagree with you on this one Roff. Not saying they are my all-time favourite watches or anything, but I personally don't think there is anything wrong with them. (And I'm not a coral dial Breitling fan. Sorry doc!) |

That's OK Driver8 - you're allowed to be wrong every now and then. |

Here she is.. and these are my thoughts on her. I like it. I wouldn't want more than one, but I like it.I love the double bezel and GMT moving chapter ring and double crown. I like the combination of brushed and polished surfaces. I like the size (44mm), and I like how comfortable it is to wear. I like the bezel. I am not sure about the flying saucer like case, but I dislike the beads of rice bracelet. If the bracelet links in the middle, the rice ones, looked like the ones on the side which are flat, I think the watch would look 100 times better. Will I keep it? Yes, for now. I like it enough to keep it. It's different enough to make me want to look at it.. it intrigues me. Here are some pics of my wrist saucer: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Congrats on a nice piece. I am a huge Doxa fan. I have a T-Graph Pro and it is one of three watches I can't live without. The other two are my Chrono Super Ocean, and my Oris Carlos Coste Chrono. So yes, you can love Breitlings AND Doxas, it is not one or the other. For those of you that "poo-poo" the Doxas, I encourage you to see one in person. They are notoriously difficult to photograph and the Doxa official pics stink. These watches have a way of reflecting light that really catches the eye, and the combination of polished and brushed surfaces is superb. The bezel is a work of art in appearance, function and feel. Dials are very utilitarian tool-like, nothing fancy or ornate, just clear and bright. I disagree with admin on one point, the rice bead bracelet is gorgeous IMHO. Great catch and if you decide to sell it... I'm in ![]() |

That's a lot of "likes" in there Admin! ![]() I know you had this one in trade so you didn't have a choice on colour, but bizarrely enough I'd probably go for the orange dialed Professional instead of the black dialed Sharkhunter. breitlingsource wrote: If the bracelet links in the middle, the rice ones, looked like the ones on the side which are flat, I think the watch would look 100 times better.
The 5000T is the one you want if you don't want the rice bracelet. It's a little larger at 45mm too. |
