Post subject:  Finally!!! (1St Radiomir)

About eight months ago, I finally joined the Risti family with my 1st Pam, the amazing 193.

Since then, I've been looking for a Radiomir for my 2nd Pam. There are many, many gorgeous Rads that appear on my "wish-list" -- only to eventually cross itself out :(

Logically, I can understand and fully appreciate all the historic or movement significance of each piece... But as a self-confessed non-WIS with somewhat pedestrian tastes, they were all missing the most important "GRIN FACTOR" to me; which simply put, after everything is said and done, when I put it on my wrist, can the watch inexplicably put a stupid-a** grin on my face?

Well, let's test it...

First, I put it on my 10-yr old daughter's wrist... "It's ginormous daddy!" she said with a huge grin!
Image

Then, it goes on my 12-yr old son... "Wow! It's bigger than my Ben10 watch dad!" he said grinning widely!
Image

So, I said hmm... let's see it on my queen's wrist!... After a short battle of trying to remain cool, my wife finally broke into laughter and said "It looks like a Bug Ben" (cross between Big Ben and Ben10 alien??)
Image

3 FOR 3!! Yup! It's confirmed -- the 341 Egiziano puts a HUGE GRIN not only on my face, but to everyone else whose opinions matter to me!

So, without further ado, please share in my HUGE JOY & HAPPINESS of my 1St Radiomir!!

Christmas really came early for me this year!

And yes, it is definitely HUGE! and no, it won't be my daily wear. But heck if I don't look (or at least FEEL!) GOOD wearing it!!! Lol!! Imho, the vintage lengths (very long) works really well for my 6.75" wrist, "framing" the top lugs with tail, and the bottom lugs with buckle...

And just for (more) grins, a couple more...

If you've stuck around this long -- thank you for sharing my joy!!

HAGWE All!!

Well that's quite the way to start

You do realise that now everything is going to look small - a 60mm watch on a 6 3/4" wrist will do that!

Holy cow! Prior to this, I'd only seen pics of that watch without any reference for scale, and no listed measurements. I thought it looked great...which technically it still does...but 60mm? That is some weird, wild stuff. But if you enjoy it, that's what counts. Wear it in good health. And I mean that. If you're not careful, you could throw your back out from wearing it - or at least walk in circles.

Horace, that's an interesting test you have for determining whether or not a watch is one you want to buy. But are you sure it's foolproof? I mean, this watch puts a stupid-a** grin on my face, but I'm not sure it's one I'd want to buy.

Actually, who am I kidding? I totally wanted to buy it when it was on eBay. The problem was, so did everybody else. The price went way high, and I didn't want to buy it anymore. So I'm not sure what this proves about your test. But it gave me an excuse to post this pic, which was reason enough to blather on about it. Enjoy your watch.

Thanks for the well wishes guys

No matter how you cut it, it IS too big for a normal human's naked wrist -- since historically Panerai built it to be worn over those cumbersome 'ol time dive suit as commissioned by the Egyptian army.

But then again, fortunately for me (and I'm guessing other owners who actually wear it out), the large size IS a hefty part of the huge appeal of the 60mm Egiziano! (howdya like them puns, huh?)

Or perhaps deep down I too, was looking for a "weird" watch like Roff...

Great watch and fantastic pictures! I always thought teh watch to be a collectors item more than a wearable item, but if you like it that is all that matter! Enjoy in good health my friend!

Man I really love the look of that watch. It's WAY to big for my taste, but I do love it.

Nice job with the pics too. I really liked the shots with your kids wrists, and the lume shot. This piece truly makes a statement!! Congrats.

:yeahthat

I think it's a truly great looking watch when seen in isolation on it's own, but it just wouldn't be a practical watch for me personally to ever wear. Maybe if I had 12" wrists, but certainly not with my 7.5" wrists.

But as long as you can carry it off that's all that counts. Nice one!

h2f that thing is massive. FLAVAAAAA FLAVEEEEEE! Wear it in good health!

Jackson, google Svend Andersen, his Eros 69 line might be right up your alley. Actually, I'm quite sure it is. And don't worry, we don't judge.
