Gents,

I'm starting to save for my 30th birthday coming in 1.5 years.

I want something exclusive that has a lot of craftsmanship. I just saw the Glashutte Sport Evolution GMT at a store and I fell in love with it. In house movement, decent size, DB, brand exclusivity, rich history, and it looks the part.

What do you guys think?

It retails for around $10k I am hoping to negotiate a better price maybe around the $7-8k. What else can I get around that price range that has all these characteristics?

IDK. Are those pushers? If so what are they for? Take away the crown guard area and for some reason it has a very Planet Ocean feel to me.

At a price point of $10k there are so many possibilities - JLC, IWC, Breguet, Panerai, UN, etc... Have you looked at the Fifty Fathoms?

Given your time frame you are going to have lots of fun choosing and likely will change your mind many times. Enjoy the journey!

It's a great-looking watch in the metal. Love the big date too.

Shark is right though, there is lots of fun to be had at that price point.

At a guess, the pushers are to set the GMT hand?

:yeahthat

If it were my money id buy the chrono. Its cheaper than both the big date and the GMT.

I like that GO, but as RJ said, I'd go for the chrono given the choice.

As an owner of a BP, I can't recommend it I'm afraid. Hopeless timekeeping, and hopeless ability of IWC to fix it.

I am going against the others here. I am in love with this watch. I tried it on last weekend, and told Sergio how much I loved it. The dial is really beautiful, and I love the big date on it. The bracelet is extremely nice, and it also has a display back (as do many offerings from GO).

As far as another option...I would suggest the Rolex GMTIIc. That was the one I was comparing this one to.

@Shark-I think that the numbers on the dial are what is reminding you of the PO.

I like it, and usually there are good deals to be had on these preowned. I've only read good things about the micro adjustments on the GO bracelets.

Looks like a Planet Ocean and a GMT IIc rented a hotel room and had a wild night of fun and gave birth to this watch...now, thats not necessarily bad thing. It's a great looking watch, in house movement, nice bracelet, but it doesn't look 'different' enough for me.

But it has a super sweet display back. I know, I know...the fun factor would probably wear off pretty quickly...but its really nice

IMO there are several GO offereings that are much more GO to me in that price range.

If that's what it takes then I'm making sure my PO and my GMT are next to each other in the watch box from now on...

I see what people are getting at in terms of its styling, but in person I thought it had a "wow" factor. It caught my eye when I was looking at something 2 display cases away. Was a while ago though, might have to go and have another look to refresh my memory. 8)

If I were prepared to drop $10k, I'd do my damndest to track down one of these feckers. I can't explain why; I just like it. But I like that Glashutte too. I'm just not sure what I think of those pushers.
