I've had several 7750s and they all behaved the way Roff described.

I own 2 watches with the 7750 movement and both change the date several hours prior to midnight. Is this normal for the 7750 movement? I really don't like it and feel the date should change at the stroke of midnight. |

7750 has a long date change process - the visible element of the change generally starts around 11:15 - 11:30 and completes soon after midnight. If yours changes hours earlier then it's likely just an issue with the hands being located incorrectly. |
