This question was asked of me in an email by another member the other day, but I still can't answer it -

Among your current collection (NOT inbounds, soon to be's, or cravings), if you had to keep only one watch - just one, which would it be and why? And you can't sell it, so don't get tricky and select the most expensive piece.

(let's leave murder and mayhem off this thread if possible - you get to wear the watch in a perfect world - like Disneyland. Except no Donald Duck. That Duck always creeped me out and I don't trust him with an expensive watch. Yeah, Disneyland with no Donald Duck. )

I have zero attachment to any of my watches. As long as I got to keep a good one like a Breitling, I think id be fine.

I only have two watches, and I guess I'd keep my Superocean. I'd wear it in my perfect world, where I fight all day, then drink mead all night, and in the morning, my wounds are magically healed and I don't have a hangover.

My Blackbird, but that's the only choice I really have. It certainly isn't gonna be my broken TAG or my G-Shock. I really need another watch :(

Still having sleepless nights about my question I see.... If I had to keep one I would keep my Rolex GMT IIc. I bought it to celebrate the birth of my daughter....the green second time zone hand has a connection to her name and birth stone. It fits me perfectly, it can be worn in dress or sport setting, and is just beautiful. For all the Rolex haters, take a minute to learn about their history and manufacturing capabilities and you'll see that they make EVERY single part of the watch including hairsprings, oils to lubricate the movement, and their own steal in their in house foundry. A lot of people think Rolex are for posers and wanna-be's but their ingenuity and craftsmanship is 2nd to none. PERIOD.

Don't flatter yourself!! Just thought it was a good question and one I haven't been able to pin down in the few moments of relection I devoted to it.

For me it has to be a watch with bracelet, leather, rubber options. There are 3 white dial Breitlings that fit that bill nicely. And one is only a $2K watch." Yikes!! But it would be hard not making it the Breguet, or the JLC, or the IWC, or the Pam.

If I had to pick one right now - it would be the white dial Skyracer. It suits my wrist well, has the extra funtionality I would want, lookes great on gold or brown croco, looks OK on an OR or DPII strap, and looks best on the Pro II bracelet. It has a little bling just based on the polished Pro II, but by no means is flashy. Works for all occasions. It doesn't get a great deal of wrist time, but that would be the one for me.

(See Marie, see?!? It comes down to a Breitling!! :cheer: :cheer: )

The old Cartier down the basement, that I have never actually worn - it was my Grandpa's, and then my Dad's, and now mine, and I intend to pass it to my son when the time comes - It could be an old timex RE brand, but it's GRANDPA's dress watch

If I had to keep just ONE watch, it would definitely have to be a Breitling, most probably my B01.

I would have to say it would be a tough choice , but would have to make it like a shoe decision , What is the most comfortable to wear ( Johnston Murphy ). The most comfortable watch I have had is the Navitimer heritage . I really miss that watch.

Dude! Johnston &Murphy and Breitling - you nailed it. Leave Alan Edmonds for the Rolex forum. The wing tip with the tramploline sole - perfect. But for knock around comfort, can't beat Mephisto.

No No No, you nailed it!!! You know how stiff Allen Edmonds are , and the Rolex owners sure are wound tight on there brand :nana: What the hell am I saying, I am one of those owners now, Damn it :D

Cole Haan is another comfy brand ,although a little more pricey than Johnston Murphy. I will have to check Mephisto out.

I dunno. I like Mezlans from Spain. They're of a quality found in ultra-expensive Italian stuff, at about half the price.

I'm wearing Adidas Superstars right now. Now that's a classic shoe.

Seriously, shoes? Maybe we should move this thread to the Ladies Breitling section :poke: Just kidding, don't anyone go get all bent out of shape or anything.
