Here is a little tidbit I just found that I thought would be of interest. Many of you are familiar with the Ball Watch Co. of yesteryear and perhaps some of their history. Well it appears that the colloquial phrase "on the ball" purportedly derives from Webb C. Ball's watch standards and their reputation for accuracy. Oh and one other thing....Today's criteria for the certification of each COSC Officially Certified Chronometer are still based upon Webb C. Ball's standards. Just thought I would throw that out there as an interesting needless to know bit of trivia.
