OK, I am ready to admit that I have a problem! I just cant seem to stop buying Panerai watches! I just enjoy them so damn much!!!

My wife was the first to bring the issue to my attention, asking why I bought so many watches that looked like "cooking pan lids", to which I hastely retorted that the reason was similar to why she spent a fortune on shoes that made her feet ache and her back hurt. Argument over.


I think I have reached a level where I am "good" as far as Panerai is concerned, I really dont crave any other models pre-SIHH 2011, that is unless I am ucky enough to get the AD call about a composite rad that is!!!

here is my current collection

47MM PAM 323 Contemporary. 10 day Caliber P. 2003

44MM PAM 233 Historic 1950. 8 day Caliber P. 2002

44MM PAM 000 Historic Base. ETA Caliber OPX

44MM PAM 111 Historic Marina, DLC. ETA Caliber OPX

44MM PAM 359 Luminor Marina 1950, fully polished case, vintage numerals. 312 with a face lift 3 day Caliber P. 9000

45MM PAM 292 Historic Ceramic Radiomir. ETA Caliber OPX

47MM PAM 305 Luminor Submirsible 1950 3 days. Caliber P. 9000


There you have it, a bit of everything, unlimited possibilities. I do not like complicated Panerais or their brown dial that much, so I sold my 311 and I am getting something a bit more interesting. Details to come, but lets just say that its a higher end skeleton model made out of a unique material (Not a PAM).

My favorite Panerai is easly the 323, no way I can describe this watch unless you see it in person. I always thought the radiomirs where very dressy, but this thing is an imposing monster of a sport watch! the huge size at 47mm, the thickest Panerai ever, the simple yet feature-full dial.....an amazing piece!!!

Got it on a special tannings aged croco strap from ABP and it is a killer:

I love each one of them, but I had limited myself to 6 Panerai, which one would you guys sell?

Having a very hard time making that decision myself!!!

I would sell the 000 as the 'least special', but that's just me.

I get what you are saying, it is the most mundane if a Panerai can ever be, but its just that I adore the ultra simple look, and it is the quintessential base, THE Logo!

Right now leaning towards the 111

Was wondering where you have been lately Altair, haven't heard much from you. Now I see you've been 'hangin' out in the Panarai shops :) .

Nice to hear from you again, good luck with deciding which one to sell - the 111 I think would sell quickly
since the price is reasonable IMO.

Great selection Altair, now how many people need a half a tree to display their Pam collection?

Please do not sell the 47MM PAM 305 Luminor Sub, I can not afford it, I can not afford it, I can not afford it, if I keep saying that to myself I may be able to convince myself, but it looks so gooood.

Well I see nothing has changed with Altair, with the exception his Panerai collection has tripled since I last stopped by.

Curious why no Fiddy or Fiddy Destro? 47mm but definitely wears smaller than your 323!

I agree, the dlc 111 would be the first to go. And if the 000 is also going, I think your "ultra simple base LOGO" should def be the 201/A or even non-matching 201/A! :lol:

Absolutely amazing collection Altair.

I owned a 312 and loved it. I have vowed to add another to my collection in the future.

There really is nothing quite like them.

BTW, I would also sell the 111 from that collection if I had to move one on.

Great collection as ever Altair!

If you want to sell one I'd say ditch off the 111 or the 000. Neither offer much other than the historic angle IMO. And of those two I'd say lose the DLC, so the 111 should go.

The in-house ones are all absolute beauties.

wow that 323 is a MONSTER~! i'm still not used to the all numerals of the 359, but i'd sell the 111. the 000 is the most plentiful, cheapest, plain, etc etc...but it's the zero, the logo, the base!
