Anyone have any experience with U BOAT Watches? If so, are you happy with them? Quality brand? Etc... Pics would be nice to if you have any.

I've always been aware of them but never really looked into them.

I feel like they could be a cool "going out" watch.

They are growing on me I guess but that might all change as soon as I try one on because they are massive! I can pull off Benteys no problem but U Boat....that is a whole different animal.

Overpriced and under quality. Bone stock ETA. The look is unique, but so are a lot of $300 watches.

Not for me. I think they're a little ridiculous looking.

I'll be the lone one to say I like my U-Boat. I realize it is nothing special from a movement perspective but I like the looks of it. IMO it looks great in the right setting. The watch is definitely not for everyone but count me as one that it works for.

2 or 3 weeks ago on a trip to the AD, I asked if they had any U-Boats n the back (they carry a lot of other brands not in the display case) and they brought out a box with 6 different models. They all looked similar in size, just different dials and cases. So... I slapped one on and they weren't too bad. I really liked one of them and could see myself wearing one for a casual watch when I would go out in jeans. My problem in the cost for a generic movement, non swiss watch. New they are way over priced, IMO. But I have seen quite a few used ones for around $1500 usd and that doesnt sound nearly as bad to me. The build quality seems fairly decent. The size, although pretty massive, doesnt wear as big as a SA because its a lot thinner and doesnt weigh any where close to a SA.

I really like that LE that has the cream dial, brown hands and ceramic case.

ok, i'll bite. i really dig the u-boat black ceramic with red hands:

i agree, its overpriced for a non decorated/upgraded eta mvmt and non swiss made watch. but at least its italian??? lol its oversized - doesnt need to be 50mm. i'd say 44-46 is good enough. but i really dig the contrast of the red numbers on the black dial and the cheezy russian diver crown cap. $1500-2500 and im in, but not at their retails...

If you like the look, you might as well buy a TW Steel for a fraction of the cost.

Maybe I'm missing something but shouldn't something called a U-Boat be German? :?

Oh, I don't really like the looks of them either. I'm all for crown protectors like on the PAMs, but that thing looks a bit silly to me.

This is the one I have my eye on. But at $10k AUD - they're dreaming.

55MM so not for the faint hearted - but an awesome looking piece.

i picked the 45mm phantom version up earlier this year (see stock picture below). i owned it for about a week before my brother stole it from me. it's a very cool watch and he's getting lots of use out of it.
