I suspect that this may be a little niche for some of you, but this Basel 2010 announcement is moving from prototype to production and I must say that I am very tempted: http://www.ressence.eu/collection/1003.php It doesn't have an in house movement which is a vote against it, and although it's a display back the movement is covered because the rotor is a full disc, which seems odd. However, the industrial style design really appeals to me, and the unique dial is very cool - you can see it in action here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GSe02vw73s |

Personally, I find it really interesting. This is a unique piece for all the right reasons. It's design is not over the top and is, IMO, very appealing. A real looker. The manner in which the time is displayed is truly novel. Really cool stuff. I like this one a lot. This reminds me a bit of the Seiko "Discus Burger" watch. Seiko's offering is a lot rougher around the edges and the design is not as refined but it has the same spirit of "alternate" representations of how time moves and is displayed. quicklook.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-399456/ |

jlee5050 wrote: How much? That one is 11,500 Euros, some of the other dial variations (same layout different materials / colours / straps) are 9,500 Euros. I know that it's a gamble on the manufacturer, but that's the kind of price levels that you could get the first production Urwerks at when they launched, nowadays you would have to pay just slightly more for those examples (!) and if these guys are also successful......... |

this watch kind of reminds me of that Azimuth space watch, the one where the earth moves around the dial. obviously not the same dial layout just similar in how the dial face moves with the time. |

I find that watch (in the video) visually awesome. Its a shame that the price is reflective to a well known, in house maker. I would be interested in thier watches if they weren't so proud of them. Alas I would own one at that price point. But a very cool concept. |

The dial is pretty interesting, but its hard to justify 11,500E for it, especially since it doesn't have an in-house movement. |

Quite a unique design, but I'd take it or leave it style-wise to be honest. I bet it's a real pain in the backside to get used to reading as well! |
