So I got a call from my Rolex AD today. They informed me that they had the new Green Ceramic Submariner (green dial and bezel) coming in and that I had first right of refusal. I've been thinking about it and although I do not particularly NEED the watch, I would feel a little remiss about passing up on such a rare piece! What do you guys think? should I buy it? Are they even that rare? I have heard that just about every AD has waiting lists. How true is this? |

My AD got one in and it was sold before it hit the shelf. He has a few people waiting. I happen to like it very much. |

I was buying a Daytona from the AD when they originally caught word of it. There was another buyer that had put himself on the top of the waiting list and he has backed out of the purchase, so I am number two. |

I actually prefer the black face with green bezel. Why are Rolex's so small? i want one but it looks like a girls watch on me! (im quite big lol) |

I like the LV better too, thats alot of green on the new piece! The new case makes the watch look about 43mm, the lug set up makes the watch look much bigger than the old case style! My AD had a couple but they were sold before he even got them. Was tellng me about the new bigger Explorer(went from 36mm to 39mm) that is available in Europe but the US AD's havent seen them yet that is going to be a hot piece! |

From what I've heard, both models are ridiculously hard to find, but the green sub especially so. As you say, waiting lists all over the place. It's supposed to look amazing in the metal, so I would definitely go and check it out if you can. Awesome looking watch, fantastic bracelet amongst the other improvements, but why oh why do they have to apply the stupid cyclops! ![]() |

Love the green sub. I would snatch that up in a heart beat if I had the opportunity. |

I like it but I'm not sure whether I'd buy it, would probably go for the black model. I also preferred the old LV with the black dial and green bezel. It does look better in person than in pics though, a bit more understated than you'd expect. One thing to bear in mind, their current rarity is probably temporary. It's a new model and there are waiting lists, but they won't last forever. In fact I saw one in an AD window the other day. |

I have been trying to find one to look at/try on for a few months now with no luck. I like all the changes that have been made to the new subs and will probably get one once I find it. I also have been debating the new green dial versus the traditional black one. |

Personally I love the green bezel, but I'm not a fan of the green dial. If they did that green bezel with the black dial, like the old LV that I used to own, then I'd love it. But as it is..... I'm not convinced. |

I think I've decided against it. I would rather spend the dough on a pre-owned DSSD. |

A pre-owned DSSD is the better choice in my opinion. It will hold it's value better. Then if you decide the new Green Sub is the one you want in a few months time it is more likely to be readily available new and even available pre-owned. Please post pictures when you get the DSSD. Love that watch. |
