This watched belonged to my late stepfather and was bought brand new as you can see from the original receipt.

I've had a little look around on Google and the watch code stands for / gents gold plated / leather strap / stainless back / electronic / non waterproof / calendar.

Apart from this I know nothing regarding collectibility or value etc as I can't find the same model for sale anywhere.

The watch is in near mint condition .. it is not currently working but it hasn't been worn for 18 years and so i'd guess this a battery issue.

Any further info you can offer is appreciated greatly.

It's a nice vintage piece, but unfortunately the quartz movement won't help in its value, even with the box and papers. There are too many of them. To my knowledge, the DeVille series do not seem to have much demand. For vintage Omega, it's usually the Moon watches and the old school seamasters (ie. Ploprof) that are always popular with collectors. I would suggest ebay as a good gauge for demand and value.

Type in Omega Deville quartz 1342 on ebay and you'll find a few examples on there. Found some on there for 300-330. Maybe with yours expect 500-600.

I've seen a few De Ville Automatics go for around £300-£400 on the bay, so based on this your quartz version will probably be around £200 mark, there and thereabouts.
Better to keep it imo.
I could be wrong though regarding it's value.

If it's not been worn for 18 years then chances are it hasn't had a service at all during that time either. One thing to be aware of is, as well as the battery, the movement itself may have deteriorated.
