EDIT:

I don't have a replica watch. We've already talked about real / replica + cash contest + nonsense. :uplaugh: :uplaugh: :uplaugh:

As a former fake purchaser, no offense in the least intended, but I don't think a discussion of the best fake Breitling to purchase is proper fodder for this board regardless of the intended use.

Such discussion may irritate some of the sponsors and certainly irks the dark blue flannel suited sorts who bill Breitling monthly.

Just MO here - not that of admin or anyone else.

The board does not allow discussions of 'which fake should I buy' - and let's not kid ourselves, replicas sounds nicer, but they are fake.

Every few months there is a thread that gets started about whether it's OK to own a fake in certain circumstances and more often than not things get emotional, people get upset, posts get moderated and no one's opinion is changed.

My comment in such threads is always the same - why buy a fake when you can get hundreds of different genuine, quality watches for $100 or less.

Well, I still dont mean to offend any other members, but I was thinking of it being similarly like copying your cd and put it in your rental car unless you lose your favorite cd... does that makes sense? I just looked through your site so it seems like you've bought or maybe found a few online to compare with real ones.. Just wondering... I was looking for a rep of my own watch without losing mine. :)

fakes are wack! Personally, if I can't have the real thing...I don't want it at all.

And I dont want to lose this. If I lost a rep, I'd just laugh. That was my point with making this thread. Perhaps some people didnt read my whole thread... but I'll nevermind this thread since obviously a lot people got emotional about this.

I don't understand why you are worried about your watch being stolen. Are you concerned about being mugged? I would not hesitate to wear a Breitling during my travels. Do you have your watch included on your homeowner's insurance?

I havent looked into that. Are there other companies that offer insurance for watches and such? That would be much better.

You can have it added to your existing homeowner's policy...that doesn't just go for watches. I have more golf equipment on mine that I care to disclose...

That makes sense. I'll call my insurance rep. (no pun :D ) But I do have quite a bit golf equipment and mountain bikes for racing. I'm not sure why I havent thought about this. Good idea.

EDIT:

Also, your idea did help my whole thread about running a replica without losing your real watch. So I'll nix the replica idea. Beside, Its a better idea than saving cash for a POS replica to get another real watch. I'm already planning on getting another watch in 3 years once I finish my battle against cancer. :lingsrock:

under no circumstance would i want to wear a fake. this is JMO but if i were going to be somewhere that i felt unsafe i would just leave my watch at home.

if its a circumstance of price and i could not afford the watch, then i would not try to live above my means and pretend to be associated with something that is not attainable. this to me means being FAKE...and why would i want to do that.

so whether you want to call them fakes or replicas they are not for me.
