So I know there are quite a few IWC fans here and well...everywhere. I am personally partial to the Portuguese line albeit never as an owner.

I never hear much about Glashutte but really like the look. Can a smaller company like Glashutte be compared to IWC?

Its not like I am planning on buying either anytime soon, but a boy can dream.

Glashutte Original (thats who we're talking about, right?) is, in my opinion, superior to IWC. Not quite up there with Patek, A. Lange etc., but not far behind. Top notch and all have in-house movements.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of Glashutte Original as well, very underrated in my opinion. If we're talking about Muhle Glashutte then it's a different story.

I have to agree with the others, Glashutte makes a better watch, most of which are fairly well priced for what you get. Saving up for this:

Wow, I was sort of expecting an even comparison at best, but hearing that Glashutte is considered better in many cases is surprising.

I am mostly a judge of asthetics, although I am slowly but surely trying to familiarize myself with the engineering of horology, so I figured you guys are the best resource when it comes to these types of copmparisons.

What is the difference between glashutte Brands. Subsidiaries?

Glashutte is an area in Germany

GO and MG are just two different companies from that area.

Putting aside personal aesthetic preference, GO surpasses IWC in every category of watchmaking.
