![]() I understand that they only made 6 of them, but there's no way in hell I'd drop $28k on it, or any watch for that matter. |

Doesn't do anything for me - and not to get too far off topic, but why does an astronaut need a watch on a space walk in 2010? he's got ground control and an entire crew inside - I think he's got plenty of "backup" to let him know when his air is going to run out. I can't imagine paying more than $25 for a Seiko - so this is way beyond me. |

No matter what Seiko you wear someone will look at it and say (maybe/ hopefully), "wow, that's a nice Seiko" (thinking it costs $150.00 or less). Not my thing but looked pretty cool to me. 28K...what are they thinking???? |

At the end of the day, it's still a spring drive by Seiko....and as others mentioned, Seiko killed its brand image long ago. Also - considering the U.S. government pays $800 for $4 screwdrivers, it doesn't surprise me that they'd blow $28,000 on a $150 watch ![]() |

I also get that their brand image isn't exactly high end, but screw image. I couldn't give a crap what the image of the brand is if I like the watch. I don't think anyone I know knows what a Breitling is and I could care less, I love mine because it's an awesome watch. All that being said, $28k is just retarded for a watch IMHO. And you're right, the US government does spend way too much on everything, I'm constantly surprised what my company charges the Army for. |

For what its worth, if im not mistaken, Seiko produces everything in house even for their watches that cost only a few hundred dollars as well. I think ive read that even their lubricants are proprietary. |
