Post subject:  Recommendations for cleaning cloths

Bought my Colt Ocean chrono at the start of the year from eBay seller jrmishy, who I have to say did an unbelievable job on cleaning it up. It looked absolutely brand new, there wasn't a flaw on it.

About 8 months of daily wearing has taken it's toll though, the bracelet needs a really good clean and polish to get rid of the light scratches.

The bracelet is brushed in the middle and polished on the outside. I guess I will have to mask off the brushed section when polishing.

Can anyone recommend a good polishing cloth, cleaning fluid/pastes and/or any good techniques to remove these light imperfections?

TIA

Hundreds of threads on this subject on here via the search function (top right under the PrestigeTime banner).

Alternatively just type "Cape Cod" or "Sunshine Cloths" into teh search for all you need to know.

Thanks for that, got some Cape Cod cloths on the way. Will get back to search to find how people clean up the brushed sections and what they use to mask then off when doing the polished sections.

Mask off the center and cope cod the outer links. Then reverse the masking and take a dry green scotch brite pad and brush the center links (with the grain, long strokes).

Has anyone ever mentioned putting a sticky thread about polishing products and maybe even a brief how-to for both brushed and polished?

Well there is a FAQ section with a link to it on the Breitlingsource homepage - http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_faq.shtml

It doesn't give a specific "how-to" but it talks briefly about using Cape Cods, and masking off polished bits and using Scotchbrite pads for brushed areas.

Very thorough review if you follow the links and related links. I tend to forget about the articles and go straight to the forum.

PS I new even less about polishing than I thought I did. Cape Cod's are wet???
