Hi guys, One of my junior colleagues is keen to buy a watch with an automatic movement but doesn't have the funds for a Breitling. I'm clueless on other brands so would love some advice. Is there a decent brand/piece he can buy for about £500/£600 with an auto movement and a fairly sporty style? Thanks, Nick |

Have a look at the Archimede SportTaucher, a diver style with the ETA 2824 - good automtic. Don't know a lot about the overall quality but the price should be close to your target. They also have 'pilot' style designs. Good luck! |

Apart from the ones mentioned I'd suggest he has a look at the Steinhart website. The Aviation and Diver ranges are very cost effective in terms of value for money and both ranges fit the bill in terms of sportiness. Their Pilot range is also very good value. |

I really like Ball watches at a price point under $1000. |

I'm gonna go with Oris, just great looking watches. And they have a great selection of sporty and classier looking watches. |

Oris might be a bit tough to find new in that price range. Mostly over $1000 US. For sport style - the Steinhart Triton diver could fit the bill. Also the Boschett Cave Dweller or Reef Ranger. Helson Shark Diver. Benarus World Diver GMT. Ocean 7. Zixen Trimex. Also agree about the Archimede Sport Taucher – especially the black dial with orange highlights. And Deep Blue has a good range of offerings at awesome pricing right now. |

Thanks, guys. Really appreciate your feedback. Time to check a few of these out before I pass them on (ie a great excuse to spend another hour looking at watch sites!). Nick |
