Just got my first Breitling after been a reader here for a while, I have a very simple question: I have the chronograph running all the time, is this normal? Any issues either way? Dan |

There is some debate about whether it will do harm by prematurely wearing out parts of the movement or actually do some good by keeping the oils inside the watch spread around to the right places. The consensus seems to be that there is no serious harm to leave it running. |

It will do both. The additional wear is pretty insignificant though which is why, as Ian says, it really doesn't do any harm. The power reserve will be reduced, but that's not a practical problem if the watch is a daily wearer. |

Yep, its most certainly a daily wearer, so that is not an issue, I just think it looks 'odd' without the second hand running around... Dan |

Dan ![]() Second, it's your watch, so wear it however you want ![]() But as far as 'odd' goes, consider that afaik, all el-cheapo fake Lings have constantly running chrono seconds (in fact, it's unstopable)... So you might want to re-think the zen of still chrono second hand... ![]() |

Very interesting if so No, but the low end fakes are usually faux chronographs - pushers advance the date. |

gotcha....it seemed odd that you would go to all that trouble to replicate the look but not the function. But then again...they are counterfitters, so reason and logic go out the window |
