Ok, I just saw this link on another forum, and have not picked up my jaw off the basement. Probably old news to many of you, but absolutely ridiculous to me...

And to think, that was his SOTC in 2008...

And yes, there ARE Breitlings content somewhere in there... :lingsrock:

My God!!!

thanks for the link, my collection seems abysmal right now, and that is all the motivation I need to run out with the ol' CC in hand!

Holy shit! I feel much better about myself today.

I think we have new episode of "Hoarders" pleading to be made.

I've seen his collection before, and it is excessive - mine's not that large.

I actually find it 'sad' if that doesn't sound too patronising, I hate to see the watches just casually thrown on top of one another for storage, to me that suggests that there is nothing special about a particular piece - the collection becomes about volume and not individual pieces and I hope that I never get to that point.

Oh I'll say it - it was disgusting to scroll through. And sad.

Well put Roff, I have to agree that is more hoarding than collecting!

personally, if I am not absolutely in love with any watch in my collection, i would rather see it go to another home and use the funds towards something that I do feel passionate about.

When I referred to "hoarding" it was not an ambiguous reference. There is a show here in the states that profiles a hoarder a week. A real disease. (and a real stupid show!).

Scrolling through the pictures of the boxes and stuff reminded me of the generic old lady who gets raided by aminal control with "almost 500" stray cats.

That is borderline disease

Then again who am I to judge? allot of people think I am nuts with my watches, my wife especially!

The show you are speaking about Sharkman reminds me of another similar show I used to watch when I was in the States, I think it was called "Pawn Stars"

Some pretty odd people show up in that show, and every once in a while someone shows up with a freakishly complete collection of some sort.

Yeah, but to be fair, only the Seikos seemed to be out of control. The rest would show much better if he improves his photography eqpmnt & skill a bit...

You should see "The Spaniard's" Swatch collection, over 2500 Swatches including the prototypes, as well as every piece of memorabilia including the Swatch SMART car!

I think this collection is great for the level of knowledge that he appears to have about watches. Movements, functions etc.

I don't understand why this guy felt the need to keep all these watches...he clearly does not have any emotional attachment to a lot of them based on how he was "storing" them.
