So I went out and saw the Expendables movie this weekend and it seemed like one big Panerai commercial. Def saw two close up shots, (Both Luminors I think) and I would imagine most of the ones that weren't as easy to pick out were similar.

Since I have taken to this hobby it seems as though even giant explosions and gun fights take a back seat to trying to scope a cool watch.

PS There was a trailer for Cloony's new movie The American. As to expect he was wearing his signature Omega

Stallone was pretty much responsible for the resurrection of Panerai in the 90's.

Jason Statham is a Panerai nut too.

Dangit, I missed those shots. I was so mesmerized by all the shoot'em up bang-bang.

I have noticed his Panerai in thoses movies but get extremely pissed off to hear "beep beep beep" and see him shutting of the beeping alarm on his mechanical Panerai! Good to be WIS!

This actually brings me to something I have been curious about.....On mechanical watches with alarms, what does the alarm sound like?

KInd og like those old mechanical alarm clocks with the two bells on top and the little hammer that hits back and forth really quickly. Like that, just a bit more refined.

That is what I figured, but no point in not knowing for sure if it is just a question away.

Some sound like RJ said, but there are some that make a pretty horrible buzzing sort of noise.

Here's a couple of nice ones (both JLC's) -

And here's a much less nice one (PAM 98) -

lol...that pam sounded terrible. It was like my cell phone vibrating while on my desk.

And that Amvox sounded like high school when class was out. It was nice and long though.
