I ordered my new PAM from a dealer today and was given a choice between one that was numbered 24 or 34.

I thought about it and really couldn't decide why one would be better than the other - being that the numbers were so relatively close together. Supposedly there are 3,000 that are going to be produced (I can't confirm that).

I would assume numbers 1 and 3,000 would be more desirable - but are other number (i.e. 100 or 2,000) desirable? Does it influence your decision?

Thanks for your input!

Certain numbers make a difference to different cultures - in China 8 is a lucky number so number 888 would be highly desirable and worth more in that market. Other numbers are considered unlucky (4 is one I think) so those would be worth less in that market.

Generally speaking though unless it's very low or the last one then it's down to personal choice.

Roff's basically said it all. Personally I always go as low as possible, but like Roff said, unless you're in the 1's, 2's or 3's it doesn't make a huge difference commercially. The other thing I've done in the past is get an LE number that matches either my birth year, or my age when I bought it, etc.

So unless 24 or 34 mean anything specific to you (which I'm guessing they don't) you could probably just flip a coin! Personally I'd go with 24 because it's lower but that's just me, and as I say it won't be any more valuable than 34.
