Has anybody in the states ever purchased a watch from a seller in Canada? Any obsticles or pitfalls to look at for? Should I just wait for the right one in the States? Thanks |

Here is the gist of it: 1. You are going to have to pay duties when it arrives in the states 2. If you dont want to pay duties, the seller will have to declare it as a gift with $0 value. This means he cannot insure the shipment. 3. It can take a lot longer, especially if it gets held up in customs 4. If using USPS or Canada Post, tracking can be a pain since it sometimes ceases to exist after it crosses the border Bottom line: If you know who youre buying from and are willing to do it right and pay what you gotta pay, its not a big deal. If you try and cheap out on shipping and duties, you might get burned. |
