For those who don't know, a Dremel (collective noun for really useful hand tools  ) is a must for all do-it-yourselfers.

I didn't have one, until today, prefering to make use of a small stable of man size power tools, not ideally suitable for fine work - hence the purchase.

A short while ago I asked Admin if he knew how to get scratches from plastic watch 'glasses' such as I have on my Submariner. I'd managed to graze the lens above the date window, and while his advice was very useful, I decided to try using a Dremel, a buffing disk and a very mild abrasive liquid used to clean plastics - fantastic! I can now read the date on the Submariner - what's more, I tried the combination on a series of small scatches on the body of the Chronomat - result - no more scratches.

Obviously to be used with caution, but impressed by the results all the same.

Glad you got that out! To buff out scuffs in my cases and bracelets I typically use Flitz or Metal glow on my buffing wheel of my Dremel to polish my bracelets/cases.. they get mirror polished quite easily that way.. sometimes i have to fix them with a low micron sanding cloth though. The dremel is an indispensible tool!

Sportback,

That's great news and very helpful for all degraded Ling owners. With one of those they can POLISH their own Lings. Make sure you tell David about this new device.

David,

I was hoping you would catch that. I can see you are going to be a tough case. I may have to explore new techniques in Ling Rehabilitation to cure you of this severe case of Degraded Ling Syndrome.

You need to add "Official President of the Full Ling Rehabilition Center" to your signature, acceldebt!
