watchbuys.com is the only authorized North America AD, just as they are with Sinn. $7260 new. They don't discount, but give "points" toward the next purchase. http://www.watchbuys.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=1385&idcategory=0 |

I just sold my 99.1 a few days ago! You could have had a great deal on Dornblueth just back from service. ![]() Here is the thread where I talk about it: http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10129. Some of the pictures are missing, and I will probably remove the rest soon due to its "sold" status. Dornblueth has great customer service. My watch had a slight trace of fingerprints on the movement, which they removed for free (even though it was well out of warranty), and even paid for round-trip shipping between the US and Germany. The fingerprint never bothered me, but when I decided to sell it I wanted it to be flawless. I sold it because I never intended to keep it when I purchased it. I bought the 99.1 used so that I could evaluate the brand and see if I wanted a "forever" one. I decided that I am going to custom order a gold Regulator. In terms of quality, the movement was the most accurate of all my watches at +1 seconds per day and wonderfully detailed. I would say the case is the only thing that is kind of humdrum about them. I noticed that mine seemed to scratch a lot more easily than my Breitlings do. It's easy to remove the scratches, of course, but the metal just seems to be softer. The case, dial, and (obviously) crystal are made by a supplier, although the dial is absolutely flawless, with a wonderful subtle sparkle to it. The hands are made by Dornblueth and blued by hand over flame. One of my reasons in going for the Regulator, in addition to the novelty of the design, is that the dial for that model is also engraved by hand. In my opinion, they are a great value for the money, especially the 99.0 and 99.1. The other thing is that the gold cases are actually priced in a manner that reflects the amount of gold in them. This is something that bugs me about most other manufacturers...you pay an enormous tariff to have gold instead of steel. There is a Dornblueth discussion forum where you can see more photos and learn about the brand: http://dornbluth.clubdiscussion.net/. I just saw a 99.3 for sale on Timezone a few weeks ago. Not sure if it is still there. ///M |

Dornbluth are great watches - and great value. The story behind the brand is also very interesting and adds to the history in my opinion. Definitely unique pieces and a completely hand made movement is a very nice touch. |

A belated resply I know but I'll echo the responses above. D. Dornbluth & Sohn make great watches, have a phenomenal customer service, some of the very best I've personally experienced, even for something as trivial as a catalogue request and their history is fantastic. Each watch is hand made which also adds another element. I'd highly recommend contacting them directly as they include a price list with their catalogue. I'd like to acquire one one day but there are too many other favourites in front for that not to be realistic for a while. |
