Well, maybe not retire, but you can certainly make a bit of cash on it......

I was in a Rolex repairers today getting my Steelfish regulated and the guy in there told me that the UK list on the Deepsea is £4700(ish), and due to the fact that there is a 4 year wait, they are currently changing hands for £10K a piece!!!

Hmmmmm, more money than sense springs to mind, because if the Deepsea follows the trend of my old 50th Anniversary (LV) Submariner, there'll come a point in a few years when Rolex AD's will be flooded with them......

Wow, maybe we should buy them here and sell them there!

Even with that under-crystal writing, I still think (along with the Yachtmaster II) that it's the best looking Rolex EVER.

I would like one..... just not at the asking price! If list was £3K maybe £3.5K tops then I'd consider it, but it's not worth nearly £5K to me.

Couldn't agree more, Driver. A 4 year wait is certainly daunting, but paying more than double the list price doesn't make any sense at all. Unless, of course, you have too much money and you've just got to have one now...

I wouldn't buy one anyway, that writing puts me off.

So Driver - if I go down to my Rolex/Breitling AD and buy one right away for £3940, how much would you give me to ship it to you for further sale in the UK? ;)

Yep, tried it on yesterday and decided it was too light for my taste. Guess I should go back there this afternoon... ;)
