Love the Tissot brand. Honestly if I had to settle on any brand under 1k for the rest of "time" I would pick Tissot. Havent found another brand that matches the quality for the price. I dont like the direction they have taken with the t-touch crap but still every brand has to have those few pieces which have niche markets. I dont know about hte movements to be honest someone else will have to fill in.

Tissot and Omega are owned by the Swatch gropu which also owns ETA so yes they do have some of the same base movemnets but Omeag is a Premium Brand so as such they modify the movements from a standard eta movement which Tissot as far as I am aware dont.

Thats funny since the T-Touch is probably the only thing from them that interests me.

To all his own I guess. Its not like I dont think the technology is awesome just not my style. And the more I think about it its Tissots dress watches that appeal to me. As you can see in my signature, the LeLocle versions are what Im really talking about. When I first got into watches I thought they were the cats ass. Now obviously as one grows and evolves into the watch industry tastes seem to become more "champagne" like to say the least. I do however know that if I ever needed a 500 watch as a gift or as a beat around I would at least give Tissot a look probably first. I also love thier dress watches because I dont wear a dress watch often so for me to spend more than 1k on one doesnt make sense because it only comes out every 1-2months. I still cant just go buy a cheapo dress watch so I think a 500 dollars price point is good for me in that area and Tissots are nice (disaplay backs, nice leather, beautiful bracelet on my LeLocle etc).

I may not read my reply again but this information I found out last is valuable to me. the reply from aboe is right that tissot and omega belong to swatch group, even "breguet" which makes very fine watches.

In my opinion, yes they do make fine watches but if they are shared by most of the big names and rebranding them that is just something of market propaganda. Why not buy something unique, I own a swatch irony myself and from now I can class it as omega or breguet. I just bought a BREITLING CHRONO COLT 11 SQ movement and I like the blue dial and the chronometer functionality.

I do own and ancient mechanical omega which is you have to wind everytime you use it and also change the date and that is a pain.

My watch may be so called "least expensive and entry level" watch but it puts a smile in my face when I know that it ticks +/- 10-15 seconds PER year and it is THERMOCOMPENSATED as some other manufacturers like to call it. But are they COSC certified? NO. Its only Breitling.

That is why I couldn't keep my eye out on my watch everytime/everyday I wear it.
