Do people still collect these? I faintly remember reading a thread about it. I bought two of them from a customer in my store. Don't know much about them. If anybody might be interested, just let me know and i will make them available for sale. :?: :?: :?:

Made by Rolex in one instance.

I think that people do still collect them, but they aren't as popular as they used to be.

I definitely remember the ones that had Mickey's arms as hands. Only one of your examples was like that :(

A lot of the no name / cheap brand ones did that - I think that most of the higher end watches tried to be 'classier'.

And that's such an easy task when they decide to take leave of their senses and stick a Mickey Mouse picture on the dial!

I remember when I first saw a Rolex with MM on it a few years back, I just assumed it was a custom order by some ludicrously rich individual for their son or something! I never thought at the time the Big R (or indeed any other serious brand) would've done something so daft.

(In case anyone is wondering I absolutely hate these things!)

They're still very popular in Japan, if the stock on display at Yodobashi Camera is anything to go by. Not just watches, plenty of Mickey clocks too. :D

My mother has some sort of limited edition Mickey Mouse watch that she got new about 10 years ago. It's gold plated and cost a few hundred bucks. I can't for the life of me remember who makes it, though. It's actually quite nice...it's the only other watch she has ever owned since she got her 1960s solid gold LeCoultre (also purchased new).

Yes, Mickey Mouse watches are still collectable. I have a friend who's amassed about 50 of the things over the last 30 years. Some of them are rather unique. Value of his collection? Who knows. But he has no intention of selling any of them. Each to his own, right?

i guess if you own everything that you have ever wanted in a watch collection then adding a piece like the gerard genta mickey mouse might make sense. Genta is pretty expensive...a while back i was enquiring about a gefica and if my memory serves correct that was a 15k watch. i wonder how much their MM ones go for.
